Shot put techniques?

Someone i know is in yr 7, she has done the school athletics and came 4th unfortunately she was versing year 8's but she threw 5.80 m for a 3kg ball (is dis good) but her highest is 6.24m. Now I want to help her by teaching her some new techniques. She said she desperately wants to throw more than 6m or more. please help me.
