Student/teacher relationships?

Asking this question completely out of curiousity. I am the kind of person who believes love is the only thing that really matters in life. So I was wondering, if you were a teacher, (or if you are), and a student began having feelings for you, which you also felt, and they told you, would you want to be with them? I mean if it was love, not like just a ual thing. Is it still illegal if you quit your job before anything actually happens? I am asking because I believe that I would quit my job (if i was a teacher) if I truly thought it was love, and curious to what other people say. :)
