What happened to edgar allan poe? what caused his death?

That is debatable. Until recently it was thought he died of alcohol poisoning and related causes. However, recently, doctors have come up with a theory that seems to indicate that he was, in fact, not a drinker at all but in fact allergic to alcohol and the he died from rabies.
