Paraphrasing Already Paraphrased Sentences?

I have to write a research paper for a science cl, but I'm having problems finding sentences from other sources to use because nearly all are already paraphrased sentences. Can I/how do I go about paraphrasing already paraphrased sentences and citing them according to MLA format?
